Spring in Breckenridge

Spring has sprung in Breckenridge and there could not be a more perfect time to visit. With over 100″ of snow in March so far, and 350″ of snow for the season, the snow is primed for one of the best spring skiing seasons ever!
Spring is also when Breckenridge really ramps up its off piste activities with festivals, parties, and a lot of fun in the sun. Below is our guide to the best things to do in Breckenridge this spring.

St. Patrick’s Day: March 17, 2019

St. Patrick’s Day is big in Breckenridge. Look out for food and drink specials around town. Also, the Breckenridge Brewery will take over Sevens Restaurant on Peak 7 – turning it into O’Sevens, North America’s highest Irish pub at 10,010 feet above sea level. You can also participate in BreckInsider’s annual pub crawl. Participating bars include Napper Tandy’s, Blue Stag Saloon, The Motherloaded Tavern, Tiki Mana Island Grill, Ollie’s Pub & Grub, and the Gold Pan Saloon. Tickets available here.

Breck Pride Week: April 3 – 7, 2019

Join us for LGBQ celebrations all week long including Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Color Run, daily après and dining specials, Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival, live music, DJs, and parties, drag bingo, and more! More information can be found at GoBreck.

Breck Spring Beer Festival: April 6, 2019

The Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival is the “can’t miss” beer festival in Colorado! It will feature local brews and free live music. Learn more here.

Time: 12:00pm – 5:00pm
Location: Main Street Station & The Village at Breckenridge

Imperial Challenge: April 13, 2019

The Imperial Challenge is the craziest race event you will ever see or participate in! It begins with a 6 mile bike ride from the Breckenridge Rec Center to the base of Peak 7 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort. Although most people use Skimo equipment, you may choose any method you would like to get to the top of the mountain from there. You do not have to be a professional athlete to compete – just set your own goals and have fun! More info here.

Easter Celebration: April 21, 2019

Breckenridge does Easter right! Join us for an Easter egg hunt on the mountain and an on mountain church service. More details will be announced via GoBreck.

Breck Plunge: April 21, 2019

Don’t miss one of the most iconic events in ski culture – the pond skim! Strap on the skis, get speed from above, and try to skim as far as you can across the pond. Ski towns across the world have always participated in this zany event, and Breck is no exception! This even will be accompanied by live music, food and drinks!

Extended Ski Season: April 21 – May 27, 2019

Breckenridge Ski Resort is extending this winter season, and future seasons, through Memorial Day!

This spring, Breckenridge Ski Resort plans to offer skiing and riding out of Peak 7, with access to primarily advanced- and expert-level terrain on Peak 8 in Imperial, Horseshoe and North Bowls, accessed by the Independence SuperChair, Imperial Express SuperChair and the TBar Lift while conditions allow. Breckenridge Ski Resort Opens Early!

For the first time in almost 10 years, Breckenridge Ski Resort is opening early for the ski season. The resort was originally planning on opening this Friday (Nov. 9th) but is now opening today! This is thanks to the 76 inches (over 6 FEET!) of snow we have received so far this season – and it is not even winter yet!

Breckenridge Ski Resort is opening with 4 lifts and 11 trails on Peak 8, including advanced terrain. To check terrain status and updates, visit

To celebrate opening, skiers and riders can enjoy complimentary waffles provided by The Waffle Shop, a new on-mountain dining experience, and music from DJ DC. Celebrations continue on Friday (the original opening date) with music from Brothers of Brass from New Orleans and a special performance from the Summit High School choir singing the National Anthem.

This season is shaping up to be one of the best seasons in decades. Check our blog and website for property specials throughout the winter. See you in Breckenridge!
