Pet Friendly Breckenridge
What to Do on a Pet-Friendly Vacation to Breckenridge

Often, going on vacation means leaving an important family member behind. However, it doesn’t have to. If you’re looking for a pet-friendly getaway filled with adventures that two- and four-legged visitors will love, plan a trip to Breckenridge. The popular Colorado town is filled with a number of activities, attractions, and amenities that are perfect for a dog-approved getaway. To help you plan your stay, Alpine Meadows Management, a locally owned and operated vacation rental management company, has put together a list of some of our favorite pup-approved adventures.
Dog-Friendly Things to Do in Breckenridge
Planning a vacation with your dog takes a bit more research to ensure you have activities and attractions on your list that are welcoming to pups. To help give you a head start on your research, here are some of our top recommendations.
- Carter Dog Park is a fenced-in spot near downtown with separate zones for big and small dogs. This is free to the public.
- Go for a hike. There are plenty of dog-friendly trails and areas to explore, including the Sallie Barber Mine Trail and Sawmill Reservoir. Just make sure to keep your dog on leash.
- BreckConnect Gondola is actually dog-friendly. Take in views as you pass the Cucumber Gulf Wildlife Preserve before dining at Robbe’s Tavern at the top, which has a dog-friendly patio.
- Treat your dog to a new toy or treat at The Downhill Dog. The Main Street shop sells nothing but dog goods, and a majority of them are from Colorado brands.
- If your pooch got a little dirty during your adventures, take them to Animal Lover’s Pet Supply to clean off. With two self-service dog wash stations, this is an essential stop after a muddy hike.
- Kenosha Breck has a large patio and an actual dog menu. This means both you and your dog can enjoy this Breckenridge restaurant.
- Other popular dog-friendly dining options include Broken Compass Brewing and Blue Moose.
