1. French Gulch

Leave downtown and go east on Wellington Road as you make your way through neighborhoods to a dirt road. Make your way past Country Boy Mine, the Reiling Dredge, and other landmarks. Keep driving on the aspen-covered canopy to the ghost town of Lincoln City. The road ends at the French Gulch trailhead. 

1. Highway 9

Drive along the Blue River and rolling hills on Highway 9. Start your drive on the corridor heading north toward Frisco and jump on Interstate 70 East. Your drive is filled with twists and turns before reaching the Green Mountain Reservoir. The 45-mile journey takes drivers about two hours.

1. Boreas Pass

One of the must-dos for those vacationing in Breckenridge during the summer or fall is driving the Boreas Pass. The 22-mile journey connects Breckenridge and Como. Before starting your drive, visit the Highline Railroad Park and Museum. Take your time on this drive lined by aspen tunnels and meadows.
